Why We're RN-Owned (And Why That Changes Your Treatment Plan)
When you're picking a med spa, the person holding the syringe matters. So does what they believe about treatment before they pick it up.
We're Margaret and Megan, the sisters behind The Plaza Aesthetics, an RN-owned med spa in Oklahoma City's Nichols Hills. People love the sister-owned part of our story, and so do we — but if you want to know why treatment here looks the way it does, that's really Megan's nursing background. Megan is our RN and injector; Margaret runs the business side. Together, we built The Plaza around one belief: aesthetic medicine should be thoughtful and individualized, and it should never look overdone.
Nursing Changes What You Notice
Nursing school doesn't teach you to look at a wrinkle and decide how to fill it — it teaches you to look at the whole person: history, meds, what they've had done before, how their face moves, what they're actually hoping for. That habit doesn't switch off just because the setting changed from a hospital floor to a med spa. So instead of "what can we treat today," the question is closer to "what's actually going to look good on this specific person." Sometimes that's less than you expected. Once in a while, it's telling you honestly that you don't need what you came in asking for.
That same mindset shapes our dosing. We're not chasing a unit count or adding filler just because there's room for it — sometimes that means treating your whole forehead instead of the one line you pointed at, or using less filler than expected because the goal is restoring structure, not changing your face into someone else's. Every face is different, so the plan has to be too.
A Plan Built Around You, Not a Menu
Aesthetic medicine can feel transactional — pick something off a list, pay, done. We'd rather look at your structure, movement, skin, and goals during your consult, then build a plan around that: one treatment, a few working together, or sometimes a recommendation to wait. Being RN-owned also means the clinical side isn't bolted on after the fact — it's the foundation, including being willing to say no when the answer is no. That's where trust actually gets built.
The Sister Part Still Matters
We started The Plaza because Nichols Hills didn't have the kind of med spa we wanted yet — elevated without being stiff, clinical without feeling cold. Megan gives it the clinical backbone; Margaret gives it the direction. Together, that adds up to results that still look like you, because a successful treatment, to us, isn't one where people can tell you did something. It's one where they just say you look rested, or healthy, or really good lately.
